Employers needing casual and short-term skilled labour will soon have a larger pool to fish in.

From 1 July 2019 working holiday markers will be able to extend their stay longer than ever before.

At present holders of a working holiday visa can earn a second 1-year visa by doing 3 months of ‘specified work’.

From 1 July 2019 persons who hold their second working holiday visa can be eligible for a third 1-year visa by doing 6 (more) months of ‘specified work’. The work must be done on or after 1 July 2019 (previous work will not count towards the new scheme).

The maximum number of Australian working holiday visas a person can have will be three visas.
